Nearly 135 days after Russell Martin's initial media briefing as Rangers manager, successor the German coach faced reporters at Ibrox for the first time.

The scale of the task facing him is widely recognized, considering Martin's turbulent and unsuccessful 123-day spell.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday boss was accompanied by club chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the frequently questioned duo of football director Kevin Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

But what exactly was revealed from the 36-year-old German's maiden media outing as Rangers boss?

Rohl's Primary Focus - Winning is Everything

One thing emerged clearly from the new coach's first appearance in front of the Scottish media - he recognizes the necessity to secure victories, and achieve this quickly.

The previous manager Martin lasted only 17 games and 123 days as manager, so the inquiry arose about what timeframe the new man thinks is realistic to turn around the underperforming squad.

While skillfully sidestepping a direct answer that could bring later expectations, the coach's message was quite clear.

"With hope very quickly," he said. "That is essential.
"In football you have limited time. One can talk about future plans but it's understood it's about immediate results and that period is about winning games. This is what I demand.
"One thing is also clear - I need every squad member to understand our intended to perform. I come back to my main theme: victory comes first, it's attractive and it's together. If you follow this sequence, I believe that I'll stay very long here."

Expectations are Standard

Martin required security protection to leave the Falkirk Stadium after his last game in charge.

We've witnessed how toxic situations can turn at sports teams when performances are poor. Protests have nearly become an expected part of the matchday experience on both sides of Glasgow currently.

As the club's most youthful ever head coach, the question asked about what qualities Rohl believes he possesses that would enable him to cope, never mind excel, in one of the highest-pressure positions in UK soccer?

"I think expectations in this business are standard," he commented. "One needs to understand that rapidly.
"I believe certain individuals could reference my age but I have been 16 years on this path. I experienced a great opportunity to be at the German club and be just the assistant manager, but I experienced what it means to be a head coach and the demands you face.
"You begin winning games and then certain people claim you must play attractive soccer. That's the next stage but that's exactly my intention. I enjoy those expectations and I look forward about what's ahead."

The Sporting Director Explains Striker Acquisition & Hiring His Son

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had numerous inquiries from journalists directed at Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the hiring of his son as head of recruitment, with fans skeptical about his credentials for the role.

Nevertheless, he justified and clarified the decision to recruit Thelwell Jnr to the club.

"It remains awkward to listen and optically I think we all agreed when we took this decision to appoint Robbie that he would be seen negatively," Thelwell said.
"The reality of circumstances is that we want to bring the top players to this club.
"My perspective on his professional path and situation is he required no my assistance in football.
"He's worked at Villa as head scout, after which he moved to Norwich City as head of scouting and then got promoted to player pathways manager.
"Before we recruited him, multiple top division clubs wanted to sign him. Our approach right at the beginning of the process was consult with the CEO, the chairman and vice-chairman Paraag Marathe about this situation.
"I remained highly open and I believe he likely experienced a more rigorous process than anybody else employee by this football club.
"What I do know is that he will work constantly to be successful for this football club and I'm looking forward seeing him proving that he'll become a valuable employee for Rangers."

Thelwell also supported the acquisition of striker Youssef Chermiti, who arrived at Rangers for a reported initial fee of eight million pounds, after failing to find the net in 24 games for Everton.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portuguese young international to Liverpool from Sporting - once more for large funds in a £15m transfer.

He was asked if he supports his expensive signing, who hasn't yet register in seven matches for the club.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I think the striker is a player who's got huge potential.
"I've never doubted him whatsoever. Similarly, I think the manager will assist in maximize the potential out of Youssef.
"These are initial stages for him, he's a young talent and of course with young talents they sometimes take time.
"However, I'm convinced throughout of his time at the club he's going to prove that he's a very, very good player."

Stewart Understands Fan Disappointment and Anger

The chief executive was facing firing line, given the vitriol that has been aimed his way by certain of the club's own supporters.

There was even a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the recent tie with United inviting Stewart - and Thelwell - to pack his bags before being removed for them.

Similar to the football director, the CEO did not avoid the topic.

"I totally understand the disappointment and hurt that the supporters are feeling because performances recently haven't met expectations and nobody's satisfied with them," he said.
"The hurt and disappointment fans experience is matched inside the leadership.
"Also understand that there must exist an outlet for that dissatisfaction and in my role, that's me.
"I serve as lightning rod for such issues and my role as a
